"Michaela Stock is a nineteen-year-old East Lansing native. She currently attends school in Holland, Michigan and studies studio art, international relations, and creative writing. Michaela has been writing music for a little less than two years and gathers influence from DIY artists such as Julien Baker and Angel Olsen. When Michaela is not playing music, she is working within the industry at Earthwork Music Collective and as director of Hope College Concert Series. Michaela is fascinated by the captivating power music has and its ability to house a room full of strangers under a shared experience."

Aaron Gase:
"Aaron Gase is a songwriter based in Lansing. Influenced by giants such as Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson, as well as contemporary artists such as Josh Ritter and Conor Oberst, he has developed his own brand of lyrical based music. Current releases include the full length LP 'Modern Creature Comfort' which was recorded with a band, and the solo acoustic EP 'Witnesses".

Hiroya Tsukamoto is a guitarist and composer originally from Kyoto, Japan. In 2000, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and came to the US. Since then, he has been performing internationally including several appearances with his group at Blue Note in New York and released six albums as a leader. And he also performed and appeared on major televisions internationally such as NHK (Japanese National Television) and EBS in Korea.

His sound takes us on an innovative, impressionistic journey filled with earthy, organic soundscapes that impart a mood of peace and tranquility.

Described as one of the top 4 bands to watch by CBS Radio, The War and Treaty is blazing an innovative trail with their eclectic blend of Americana, Folk, Soul and Blues. Their first single "Hi Ho" released in June 2016 entered into Triple A Radio top 200 charts, came in at number 20 out of the Top 89 songs of 2016 at WTMD 89.7 (Baltimore, MD) and made it into the Top 91 songs of 2016 at WSGE 91.7 and this is just the beginning for this duo.

In July 2017, this husband and wife duo will share the stage with Grammy Award Winning producer and Blue Note Records President, Don Was, as one of his hand-picked performers for one of Detroit's biggest music festivals Don Was All Star Revue: Music Rebellion and will continue touring the US.

Please join us for our second Bring Your Own Blues Experience. This year we will once again be featuring two concurrent progressive workshop tracks, live music, and two epic late nights. Here are a few basic details to wet your appetite, with more to follow.

Tracks and Instructors:
Drag Blues with Jeff Meyer and Sara Lapan of Los Angeles, CA
Struttin’ with Sarah Lokay and Ross Blythe of Chicago, IL

Both tracks will be open to all levels. However, they are not designed for bare beginning blues dancers, and several key base concepts will not be covered in these workshops. In the coming months, we’ll tell you what concepts you need to be comfortable with in order to have success, with video demonstrating these concepts.
